Germany’s rising cue sports star Moritz Neuhausen produced an unforgettable turnaround to capture the Roobet European Open crown, overcoming Austria’s Mario He in a gripping final to secure his first Major Open victory on the World Nine-ball Tour.
Neuhausen admitted the week didn’t begin smoothly. He struggled to find rhythm in the early stages but relied on resilience and composure to stay in contention.
“I didn’t feel at my best when the tournament started,” he said. “My performances were inconsistent in the opening rounds, but I kept pushing through, focusing on one match at a time and staying mentally locked in. That approach carried me through the difficult spells and ultimately helped me reach the final — and lift the trophy.”
The victory represents another major step forward in the German’s rapidly accelerating career. His breakthrough moment came last season when he secured his first Matchroom Major title at the Premier League Pool in Sarajevo. Since then, his form has continued to surge.
A string of elite performances has followed, including titles and deep runs at major international events — lifting the Peri Open trophy, finishing runner-up at the Hanoi Open, and earning Most Valuable Player honours on his debut appearance for Team Europe at the prestigious Mosconi Cup.
Adding the 2026 European Open to his résumé gives Neuhausen his first Major Open championship and further underlines his growing influence on the professional scene. With momentum firmly on his side, he continues to establish himself as one of the most dangerous competitors on the World Nine-ball Tour.
