Chris Wakelin

Nickname: The Monster

Chris Wakelin is an English professional snooker player who turned professional in 2013 and has built a reputation as a determined, hard-working competitor with a strong all-round game. He is a two-time ranking event winner, claiming his first title at the Snooker Shoot Out in 2023 before securing his latest success at the Scottish Open in 2025, a victory that confirmed his progress and standing on the professional tour.

. Known for his composure under pressure, Wakelin combines solid tactical play with fluent break-building and has steadily established himself as a consistent performer at the top level. Away from competition, he has also been involved in charitable work, notably taking part in Strictly Christmas, a local spin-off inspired by Strictly Come Dancing, which raised money for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry, supporting care for babies and young children with life-limiting conditions.

Chris Wakelin successfully qualified through Q School to turn professional for the first time in 2013. Away from the baize, Wakelin worked full-time as a deliver driver for ASDA prior to joining the main tour.
