Pijus Labutis made a major statement on the World Nineball Tour, defeating Moritz Neuhausen 13–7 in a thrilling final to capture his first-ever Matchroom Major title at the 2025 Hanoi Open Pool Championship.
The victory is a career-defining moment for Labutis, who has spent years chasing glory at the sport’s highest level. After several near misses, he finally broke through in Hanoi, delivering a standout performance in front of a packed and passionate crowd.
“I’m shaking — I can’t even describe how this feels. I’ve dreamed about this moment for so long, and to finally be here holding this trophy feels unreal.”
His composure and shot making under pressure were evident throughout the final, as he showed the confidence and belief that have fuelled his journey to the top.
“I played my heart out today, and I’m so proud of how I handled the pressure. I know I can compete with the best. I’ve always believed that. This victory proves it — and it’s just the beginning.”
Labutis credited his success to strong momentum at the table and the energy from the Vietnamese crowd.
“My break was working, my confidence was high, and everything just came together. To win my first title here in Hanoi, in front of such an amazing crowd, makes it even more special.”
